What is patient choice?
If you and your GP decide that you need to see a specialist for more treatment, you can now choose where and when to have your treatment from a list of hospitals or clinics.
Why has patient choice been introduced?
Research has shown that patients want to be more involved in making decisions and choosing their healthcare. Most of the patients who are offered a choice of hospial consider the experience to be positive and valuable. The NHS is changing to give you more choice and flexibility in how you are treated.
