We offer a range of different services to meet the needs of our different patient groups.
New Patients
We register between 30-50 new patients every week and our patient list is open to all people living within the published practice area. Call in at reception to fill out a new patient registration form and book for your New Patient Health Check. Please note that we require proof of address when registering.
Your medical records could take up to 3 months to arrive, or you may not have had any previous medical history in this country. It is therefore very important that we gather as much information from you as possible when you join the practice.
Please make sure you come for a 15 minute New Patient Health Check with our Healthcare Assistant or one of the Practice Nurses. They will talk to you about our services and ensure that your basic healthcare details are correctly recorded on our computerised database. They will do blood pressure and urine tests and talk to you about your current/past medical history and also your family health history - all these are very important in assessing risk factors for medical conditions like coronary heart disease and diabetes.
Please make sure that you don't miss out on this important introduction to our service - it will help our clinicians to give you the very best service.
Babies
Toddle along to our Baby Clinics on Monday afternoons for 6 week baby and mother checks, childhood immunisations and pre-school boosters. Over 65's
We offer a range of special services for older people including free flu and pneumonia vaccinations (usually available between October and April each year), health checks and regular medication reviews. Please book an appointment with a Practice Nurse or GP.
Additionally we run a free "Get Up and Go" on-site exercise class every Friday lunchtime. It is chair-based and easy to follow and designed to give you real health benefits, improve your quality of life, have fun, make friends and remain independent. If you are interested in joining in speak to your GP or Practice Nurse to be referred.
Chronic Disease Management
We offer several specialised care services for people with chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension and epilepsy. If you have any of these conditions you will be invited to attend annual health reviews to help monitor your health and ensure you are receiving the best care possible. You may also be referred to our in-house clinics such as Specialist Diabetic Nursing Service or Hypertension Clinic.
Islington Primary Care Trust also run an Expert Patients Programme for people living with one or more long term health conditions. This is a FREE six week course designed to help patients gain greater confidence in your ability to control your symptoms and find new ways to reduce the effects your condition has on your life. You can self-refer and don't need to be referred by a doctor. For more information see the Expert Patients Information Leaflet.
